Writing is hard. It's hard to convey what's in my head well. It's hard to know if what I've written actually makes sense to someone who doesn't know everything I know. It's hard to remember everything you want to write about. It's hard to feel excited about written communication when you aren't getting any of the feedback you get from your conterparty(ies) that you might get if you were say conversing in person. There's no way to check in with your reader halfway through and see if they are udnerstanding or if there's anythign you can do to make it clearer to them.

I write Ascendant New York, a look into the hyperlocal NYC issues I care about.

I wrote everything you have read on this site. Trying to condense who you are as a person down to words is tough. But, as hard as it is I would definitely recommend. It can be calarifying havign to write down who you are, what you care about, and what you think. It's kind of astonishing how human consciousness can seem so vast and unknowable when I try to understand someone else, but when I try to convey who I am it can feel so short. What more is there to me that hasn't been written down? I'm sure my friends will think I have missed major aspects, perhaps I'll have a section for summaries of who I am written by the people who know me best.
